All by-catch (anything you catch that is not a Snakehead) should be carefully returned to the canal alive. Please take a minute to review the following picture. The native Bowfin looks very similar to the invasive Snakehead. The easiest way to tell them apart is by the anal fins. A Bowfin has 2 fins that are separated but a Snakehead has a single long anal fin.
If you have the means to put your Snakeheads on ice until the weigh-in, we can use them for the barbeque on Sunday. If you do not have a way to preserve them, do not worry, we will still take them at weigh-in and discard them for you.
We are inviting all residents and RoundUp participants to join us for a barbeque at 1 pm. Please bring a side dish to share, meat, and a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice. Any Snakehead meat we receive from the Roundup will be grilled and shared by all who wish to try it.
